Contrairement \u00e0 ce que beaucoup de gens croient, le froid lui-m\u00eame ne cause pas le rhume. Cependant, le froid peut affaiblir le syst\u00e8me immunitaire, ce qui rend le corps plus vuln\u00e9rable aux infections virales comme le rhume. En outre, lorsque les temp\u00e9ratures sont froides, les muqueuses nasales et les voies respiratoires peuvent se dess\u00e9cher, ce qui rend plus difficile pour le corps de pi\u00e9ger et d\u2019expulser les virus. Cela peut \u00e9galement rendre les muqueuses plus sensibles aux irritants et aux infections.<\/p>\n

Selon l\u2019Organisation mondiale de la sant\u00e9 (OMS), on estime qu\u2019environ 1 milliard de cas de rhume surviennent chaque ann\u00e9e aux \u00c9tats-Unis, ce qui repr\u00e9sente un co\u00fbt \u00e9conomique d\u2019environ 40 milliards de dollars en pertes de productivit\u00e9 et de soins de sant\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Cependant, il est difficile de donner des donn\u00e9es pr\u00e9cises sur l\u2019impact du froid sur le rhume, car il existe de nombreux autres facteurs qui peuvent \u00e9galement contribuer \u00e0 sa propagation.<\/p>\n

Il existe plusieurs moyens de se pr\u00e9munir contre le rhume :<\/p>\n

  1. Se laver les mains fr\u00e9quemment avec de l\u2019eau et du savon ou utiliser une solution hydro-alcoolique.<\/li>\n
  2. \u00c9viter de toucher son nez, ses yeux ou sa bouche, en particulier si on n\u2019a pas lav\u00e9 ses mains au pr\u00e9alable.<\/li>\n
  3. \u00c9viter les contacts rapproch\u00e9s avec les personnes malades, en particulier en p\u00e9riode d\u2019\u00e9pid\u00e9mie.<\/li>\n
  4. Porter un masque, en particulier en cas de contact rapproch\u00e9 avec une personne malade.<\/li>\n
  5. A\u00e9rer r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement son domicile pour renouveler l\u2019air int\u00e9rieur.<\/li>\n
  6. Maintenir une bonne hygi\u00e8ne de vie en ayant une alimentation \u00e9quilibr\u00e9e, en faisant r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement de l\u2019exercice physique, en dormant suffisamment et en \u00e9vitant le stress.<\/li>\n
